| The Story of the Penny Rug |
 |
| |
The Wool Penny Rug and Folk Art Ornaments are as much a delight to design as to assemble, with the added satisfaction of being able to — at last — use all those luscious bits of leftover wool. Nothing wasted!
Much like quilting, penny rug crafting can be a neighborly pursuit with friends gathered round a kitchen table, or the work can be a solitary activity on a cold winter night.
Either way, the process is the same. Gently felt the repurposed wool carefully cut the ‘penny’ circles, tabs, hearts and flowers, lay the design flat in front of you, thread the needle and begin the blanket stitch.
